Total reset

Last week we made one of the shortest bicycle trips we regularly make. Up the street, along a few speed bumps, past a busy crossing, and we are in the wood. It’s just a short distance from buildings to wood, but as far as atmosphere is concerned it is a different world. We go from brick, tarmac and noisy traffic, to trees, fresh green leaves, and bird song. In short, we go from disquiet to a quiet oasis: a relief. You can still see the blue sky through the leaves in spring, sunlight still pierces the foliage and reaches the ground. We ride only a few paths through the wood for it isn’t that big, and before long we are back home again. Still, a short bicycle trip like that gives you a total reset in no time. All you have to do is open your senses to the experience.
